Job Title:  Assistant Manager - Procurement (Imports)

Job Description

  • Import raw materials for API plants and CMS products.
  • Send RFQs, prepare comparative statements, conduct negotiations, release POs, and actively following up on material deliveries.
  • Daily review of PRs with the planning and plant teams to align on priorities and ensure 100% OTIF for all raw materials.
  • Follow-up on pending purchase orders and service orders, closure of old payments, and ensuring regular payments to vendors.
  • Fair knowledge of taxation, LC applications, and close coordination with the Finance team for timely release of payments. Close coordination with plant teams (CFTs), end users, and R&D to address rejections, provide timely support for resolving vendor-related issues, and ensure CAPA implementation within defined timelines.
  • Proven experience in handling general raw materials, critical raw materials, and KSM procurements. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to understand market dynamics and ensure procurement at the right time and price.
  • Finalizing and ensuring quarterly contracts for high-volume raw materials at optimal cost, while providing supply forecasts to vendors for timely plant deliveries.
  • Continuous feedstock monitoring for critical and high-value materials to determine appropriate procurement strategies.
  • Ensuring procurement savings against budgeted raw material prices.Daily review of raw material arrivals and plant inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock through vendor-managed inventory (VMI).
  • Proactively highlighting supply concerns, sharing advance information with plant/CFT teams, conducting vendor visits, and ensuring business priorities are met.Timely introduction of alternative sources with cost advantages, while ensuring compliance with quality and service standards.
  • Ensuring all vendor qualification documents are in place in line with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Required product-level understanding to support effective procurement decisions
  • Aligning procurement strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Procurement of API-related packaging materials such as HDPE drums, polythene bags, etc.
  • Preparation of monthly MIS reports and sharing market insights for key raw materials.
